Brian Murphy Motors has been looking after cars in Glanmire since 2013. Brian brings over 20 years’ experience in the motor trade, and the garage services all makes and models.
Every booking starts with a conversation. Call Brian, tell him about your car and what it needs, and he’ll find a date that works for you. If you’re not sure what’s wrong, that’s fine. Describe what you’ve noticed and he’ll talk it through with you.

Servicing, checks and straight advice
There are two main service types. Brian will help you choose the right one, and work with you around your car’s needs and your budget.
Major service
Everything in a minor service, plus:
- Air filter
- Pollen filter
- Fuel filter Diesel cars
- Spark plugs, where due Petrol cars. Some have longer-life plugs, and we’ll check what yours needs.
With every service, we note any wear and tear and let you know about any further repairs we’d recommend, so you can decide what to do next.

We use high-quality oil that’s specific to your vehicle.

Locally sourced parts
Our parts are high quality and sourced locally. We can also get main dealer parts where you’d prefer them or your car needs them.

Just out of warranty?
We service and repair cars that have recently come out of warranty. We can keep using main dealer parts, or use parts from one of our trusted suppliers.

We look after families with more than one car, students and pensioners, with discounts for all three. Just mention it when you call.

How do I book?
Call Brian on 086 052 8953. Bookings are arranged over the phone so you can discuss your vehicle and the work required.
How far ahead should I call?
We don’t offer same-day servicing. We usually recommend booking 3–4 weeks in advance, though it can be sooner depending on workload and the time of year. Please call to discuss.
What information should I have ready?
Your vehicle’s make, model, registration and mileage, plus details of the service or issue. Have any relevant NCT paperwork available.
How often should I service my car?
For petrol cars, Brian Murphy Motors’ general recommendation is a service every 10,000 km (approximately 6,500 miles) or every 12 months, whichever comes first.
For diesel cars, we recommend a service every 8,000 km (approximately 5,000 miles) or every 12 months, whichever comes first.
Your vehicle’s manufacturer may set a different schedule, so follow that where it applies, or call Brian for guidance.
What’s the difference between a minor and major service?
A minor service covers an oil and oil filter change, a general inspection, brake pad and disc checks, tyre pressures and a screenwash top-up.
A major service includes all of that, plus the air and pollen filters, the fuel filter on diesel cars, and spark plugs on petrol cars where they’re due. See both services.
Do you change tyres?
No, we don’t offer a tyre fitting service, but we’re happy to recommend a local garage that does.
How much does a service cost?
Every car is different, and the cost depends on the parts and labour your vehicle needs, so we can’t give a set price here.
Call Brian with your vehicle’s make, model and mileage and he’ll talk you through what’s involved. We always aim to look after our customers as best we can.
We also offer discounts for families with more than one car, students and pensioners.
